A top-tier global consultancy is in search of a Data Engineer (Principal Consultant) to drive the delivery of cloud-native data platforms across complex, high-impact environments. What you’ll do as a Principal Data Engineer:
Lead the architecture and build of modern data platforms using AWS-native tools (S3, Redshift, Lambda, Glue, DynamoDB, Matillion, etc.).
Drive best practices in CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, and data ops methodologies.
Liaise directly with clients to define requirements, shape technical solutions, and oversee successful delivery.
Contribute to practice growth through recruitment, coaching, and mentoring.
Lead business development activities including RFI/RFP responses and proposal development.
Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and production-ready.
Be an advocate of clean code, DevOps, and hands-on engineering leadership.
Skills you’ll bring as a Principal Data Engineer:
Extensive experience with AWS data services (Redshift, Glue, S3, etc.).
Hands-on with ETL/ELT using Matillion or similar tools.
Strong Python and SQL skills, with a good understanding of data formats
Demonstrated experience in designing data lakes, data pipelines, and metadata management.
Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and agile delivery.
Background in consulting, including stakeholder engagement and client-facing delivery.
Proven success in responding to RFI/RFPs and shaping go-to-market propositions.
Must be SC Clearable (or currently hold SC Clearance).
Experience in practice/team building is essential.

£95,000 - £105,000 base salary
